Microsoft launches 'Surface' tablet

Well, here's what everyone was waiting for Microsoft to announce on Monday! The Windows 8 behemoth has launched a new Microsoft tablet called 'Surface'.

Surface looks to be kind of a tablet and ultra-thin laptop combined together. Surface has a 10.6 inch display, weighs less than 1.5 lbs, and is 9.3mm thick. Microsoft writes: "A tablet that's a unique expression of entertainment and creativity. A tablet that works and plays the way you want. A new type of computing. Surface."

It looks great, but as of yet, there's no price or release date attached to Surface. Folks on Twitter are shooting comments like:

-- "Gotta admit, Msft are living up to the hype, this is really good."

-- "Basically, MSFT is killing it w/ their new tablet. Welcome competition to the iPad."

But it's not all positive, as such...

--"Meet the red-headed step-child of tablets....The Surface! Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse. #fail"
